I've spent many Christmas's away from home over the years, but only two while in the service. One at the Presideo, in San Francisco, in 1966, and the other at Long Bien in Viet Nam in 1967. Did get to see Bob Hope in country that year.

I have spent numerous Christmas holidays away from home. Both when I was single and in the U.S. and while I was married and out of the countrry. I always volunteered to stand various duties so the married Marines could be with their loved ones. It was my Christmas gift for them. :coffee2:
