Detector(s) used
Minelab xterra, Whites DFX, Notka Makro Simplex. Folks the price don’t mean everything, the question is are you willing to put in the time to learn the machine, experience will pay off I guarantee it.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Better this year than last as far as finds, anyone test new equipment out, was it helpful. New sites if you want to share please do. This week I found 2 v nickels, still using simplex it works just fine. Dam bugs are bad this year, I?m not putting that nasty spray on, heck I put old socks over my arms it helps. We?ll have a nice summer while it last.

Oh does anyone recommend any coin magazine over another, magazines things of past,or website you like, I prefer magazines.

The year started out pretty good and my finds were better than my 2020 finds for the same period. Things have gone downhill since then mainly due to the weather being either rainy or too hot to hunt. Looking forward to autumn. There are some good coin magazines out there that still have PRINT copies such as "Coins" or "Coinage". Coins is monthly and Coinage is six times per year. There's also Coin World which I subscribe to. I get a monthly in the mail and I get the weekly issues online.

Sux? So? Far?

Fellas we need to have a good ole beer and sit by the campfire and reminisce about the good ol days, cheers here’s a toast to all you folks that retrieve thousands of that been in the grounds for decades. Thank to you why because history is important and metal detecting teaches more than school local history, I think you should be honorary educators and keep the past alive, nobody else does especially the thing they call schools, we should ask for our money back from ridiculous taxes we pay

The ground here in Virginia is like concrete and very difficult to dig. Very pleased with my Garrett Apex light and reliable.

Off the charts success for me....8 treasure coins from the 1733 fleet, gold coin and multiple silvers in the bahamas, gold and platinum and diamond rings, big imperial topaz gold ring, gold crucifix, 19 rings since July, 2 t-net banners, and now I'm treasure diving on the treasure boat in the quest for "El Angel bueno" a very rich spanish galleon lost in a hurricane in 1563 !! Woooo hoooo !! 2021 baby !!

been terrible as far as time to get out detecting...only two or three times this entire spring/summer so far. I did find 2 seated dimes, a 2 reale, and a capped half dime my first and second time out on the same weekend....so I guess I can't complain too much

Getting new permissions has been a no for the most part. Living the hermit lifestyle still. Got a few firsts this year like my first kettle point-:hello2:.
My permissions are planted-have some new sites on old permissions that the land owner has past on to me. So when the crops are off it will be a fall hunt.

I don't stress it not being able to hunt-If the itch is overwhelming I can grab a few hours out on my property in the bush swatting some blood sucking insect that wants my blood.:laughing7:

Your in a unique position to discover treasures most of us dream about, great job and continue to keep us up on your searching

Moved to a new area, but finds very different than what i am use to. have not found much but have been hitting i was told are old hunted out sites, but still exploring for new. In Feb picked up my best find of all time for me, George I Indian Peace Medal 1714, oldest thing that i can date so far. I think i hit a record on shot gun shells. But have enjoyed finding some friends to hunt with, cant wait to find that next big find. Happy Hunting and Cheers :occasion14:

have a cabin in maine on the boarder.... the bugs up there are a whole new breed....mosquitos that bite through my darn carthart pants ffs

Probably need new sites for the fall. Spring was good.

Fully retired, plenty of time to burn, just waiting for the cold!

Slow going for me. Finally picked up a new detector - Nox 600. Headed to my first site and dug the first signal I found turned out to be a tube of shaving cream or what was left of it. I was having illusions of grandeur till I dug that tube out of the ground. Was a real screaming signal. Too damn hot to get back there and wayyyy too many ticks. I'll be back there soon enough as I am a volunteer groundskeeper for the property. House is from the early 1700s.

Yes why are the bugs so bad, aweful

2021 has been excellent for me so far. Lots of old coins, silvers, and relics. I still get out at least once a week, but am really waiting for Fall so I can return to my fields. I've been hitting Forest preserves, and private property during the Summer.
