Cool looking piece. I’ve seen several large Cumberlands from Kentucky used with a broken base like that.

Did you find it? That’s a banner worthy find if you pulled it from the dirt.

Very good find I wonder if the base broke when the flute was being done?

Please share the story behind the piece - it’s a beaut!

cool find, it looks like it was used quite a bit to me. maybe even resharpened some. I have found several beaver lake bases that are broke right there at that same area here in Tn. Just not find the top part. that worn area up near the top woould lead me to believe it was used like a knife

That thing is awesome.

Purchased or found ? Don’t think much is missing that’s a pretty big point

Yes and yes. I found this point and a square blade outside Ft Campbell KY in 1996 when I was stationed there. Sold off bunch of my artifacts when got out for a bit to go to college. Just got it back today :) so had to buy it back.

Isn't missing much at all maybe 1/4 inch. Base has been reworked and ground anciently so pretty sure utilized after being snapped. It's right at 5".
Area where found has a massive concentration of Clovis sites, including the Little River Clovis site.

Don't think so, it looks almost like a twisting snap.

Here's pic of point with Paleo blade

Doggone it!!! I was there from 1981-83 and never found anything. Had to go to the Cumberland River/Kentucky Lake area to the west of Ft. Campbell to find some points that had washed up on the shore. But NOTHING like your fantastic find.

Great find. Looks more Cumberland related than Clovis. Outstanding either way.

Wow, that thing is sweet. Hope to find something like this one day.
