This is my buddy's best find. (posting for him) He is new to metal detecting and found this gold coin
without a dettector hidden behind a board in the closet of an old abandoned house while gutting the house for a client.
He also found numerous, silver dollars from the 1920's, silver halves from 1964, and some from the 30's, silver washington quarters, and about 200 wheaties. All this was in one bag someone had hidden decades ago when the house was occupied. We dont know what the gold coin is worth but one dealer offfered him $900. I told him to hang on to it until he can get another opionion or find it in a price book. Its Hungarian.

what is the approximate size of the coin ........ dime , nickle , etc. ?

That is one heck of a find. Are the owners cool with him keeping it? Congrats to your friend.

A deal was struck and he split the bag half and half. This is the size of one of our half dollars. The other coins were Unites States coins.

Wow, thanks for the pic. I'm hungarian & am just starting to learn about my heritage. Beautiful coin!

That's great! And because it was in a wall and not the ground, it looks pristine. If it's the size of a US half dollar, that's about the size of a Saint Gauden's $20 gold piece. I wouldn't sell that for $900, it's likely do be worth quite a bit more although I didn't do a search.

AMAZING & AWESOME Gold coin !!!!!!!!

Hmmm, I think there are some walls I need to tear down when I get home today...
