The wife and I drove to Galax VA on 11/23. On Thursday we had a great family day with her parents and extended family. On Friday I went out to an abandoned house out in the middle of nowhere. I did not get a good vibe from the site, so I went on down the road and hunted another property. Not many coins were found, but I did manage to pull a 1911 Barber from near the privy. After a couple hours I went into town and hunted the grade school and Felt's Park.

All Finds 11/25
On Friday late afternoon I took off to Charlotte to stay with Carolina Tom and hunt with him on his turf. Tom is the most Gracious host with great accommodations.
We left out Saturday and met up with Brunt Chimney, P@tch, Smittyman, & SuperShaun. Great bunch of guys who give you a run for the money when it comes to sniffing out coins and other keepers.
Tom hit the 1st silver (a cool clown pendant), then I hit the big silver. A 1967 40% Kennedy Half. Boy I was stoked when I saw that shiney sticking out of the dirt. Then smittyman pulled a 43 Merc out, right in front of everyone when we were getting ready for the group picture.
Here is Tom's 1st attempt of taking a pic of me and the coin.
He finally took a good one
11/26 Keepers
11/26 Morning Finds
Tom and I headed out for lunch when all the others had to go put up Christmas lights and/or perform other honey do's.
We drove all over trying to decide where we could score more booty. I turned to Tom as said
"Let's do less driving and do more digging"
That's a quote from K-Dog.
Here are the finds from the afternoons sites
On Sunday we went back to the 1st site where all the goodies were dug on Saturday. I used the 5" DD coil all weekend due to the amount of trash (bottle caps & pull tabs) in the dirt. Love that small coil, not giving up much depth with it either. The name of the game at these sites is to sniff out the coins between the trash signals. I did eke out another Kennedy (clad) from that site.
Sunday's finds
If you ever get a chance to hunt with other Tnet members GO FOR IT. You will walk away making some good friends and great memories.
As always, I hope ya'll got out and swung the coil today
