Got out this morning and hunted what is now a park here in San Jose but once was the amusement park known as Frontier Village . Back in the 1970's we were always have fun at Frontier Village ! In 1980 it closed down :BangHead: . Years ago I hunted the park that is now there and found a elongated penny from the park and a cool Good Luck token . I thought maybe I would get lucky and find one more . I didn't find any but did find three old tree markers with numbers on them . Back when the park was open from 1960 - 1980 you could walk through the park and see different types of trees and get info about them . The other finds were one old leather rivet that I am sure came off one of the Cow Boys that worked the park  . The other cool item is an tag with the number 29 and the name Artana Geoffroy . I have no clue what this is :icon_scratch: . Any info would be great ! The last item found was a junk ring  .

I added some picture of what it once looked like :icon_thumright:

What a neat place to hunt. I remember going there as a kid back in the 1960's. I would bet that there is at least one silver in there! Nice finds!

Nice hunt. You got some cool finds and upped the ring count.

There's an old amusement park not far from me I would love to hunt but unfortunately, it's inside Baltimore and the neighborhood is REALLY BAD. Not sure if I wanna' risk a drive by for a treasure hunt. I am seriously thinkin' about it though.

A family friend was the chief designer of that park in the 60's. He was a brilliant old dude named Laurie Hollings. I bought his house in the 90's when he retired. His garage was a massive, disorganized collection of artifacts from his 60 years of work on amusement parks, movie sets, and museums. Fascinating career!

My brother and I have spent a fair amount of time out there detecting and have pulled a few wheats and tokens. Most of the stuff we find is from the 70's when the park was in its heyday. We joke that we might be finding stuff we lost 40 years ago :-)

Great story ! I grew up next to Gunderson High School and live next Santa Teresa High School now . It close to home witch makes for an easy hunt every once in awhile . I haven't found a token since the early 2000's . I hope to find one more ! We should meet up some time for a hunt !

Yeah, sounds like we're practically neighbors. I went to Oak Grove HS ('84) and still live in the area. Here's a token I found out there a while back.

I was class of '85 at Gunderson . Sounds like we are neighbors ! We lived up the street from Oak Grove back in the 1990's off of Lean Ave !
