Hunter612 crh log

The tellers at my pickup bank keep their coin trays where I can see them so when I see silver I ask if I can buy the half dollars in their tray. I have managed to get 3 40%ers this way. I also ask for customer wrapped halves. I have found 1 40%er going through customer wrapped halves.

Thanks for the info. I've bought a few CWR from the bank and did ask the teller if they had any halves in their trey. They actually let me look at the loose halves they had. Next time I'll just buy all of them without looking at them so they don't think anything of it.

Make sure to search the 2016s for doubled dies!

ENAMEL: do you have a pic of the 2016 DD for all of us to look at? Please post if possible. I have yet to snag any 2016 of any coin.

I haven't seen any yet, but that's why they need to be looked for. There have been doubled dies on every shield cent so they're definitely worth searching. Go to coppercoins.com and do a search on previous years to see what they look like. The 2011 obverse and reverse both have some beautiful doubling. You can also check at doubleddies.com.

Can you please explain the purpose of the 2009's?

They have a low mintage number compared to other newer cents. I keep them because I don't get many of them.

Hunter: you are finding more 2009 cents than I am, I roughly pull only 8-12 per box.

The last few weeks I have been finding a lot more 2009's than usual. I used to get less than 10 per box. I thought that I would start finding less of them, but now I find almost 20 per box.

I went to 2 different pick up banks last week here are the results.

Hunter612: your cent wheat count has severely dropped off recently. Maybe you've drained the system, HaHa

That is possible. I am thinking about getting less cents and more nickels or dimes. One of the tellers at my pickup bank said a guy has been ordering 3 boxes of cents every week and then he brings them back to cash them in a few days later. He doesn't bother wrapping them either, so the tellers have to re-wrap all of them. I am assuming he is a Coin Roll Hunter. I just hope it doesn't make the tellers aggravated enough to stop ordering boxes.
