Welcome from Salinas, CA. The area you speak of is, as you know, sparsely populated. About the closest you'd find fellow hunter enthusiasts to that area, will be from the So. CA Los Angeles area. Yes, some of them make day trips or over-nighters up that way.

Also depends on what type detecting you're into. Because if you meant prospecting (for nuggets, etc....), then that may have folks you'd find on a forum specific to prospecting.
