Hello All,

Ok, so as stated previously (http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,116857.0.html) I've been invited into the famous trio's group (KirkPA, ZoyBoy & Paco) as a ongoing member of Bone Dry Dectecting (website coming soon).

They graciously invited me to detect the Tavern Site with them last Sunday morning.

We found many artifacts between us and Paco found a real nice coin (which he can tell you about), I also found this seated half dime !!!!!!!

It was very close to a corn stalk and I almost missed it altogether. It was about 5 inches deep and when I yelled "silver" as loud as I could they all came a running. When I looked closer, the first thing I saw was "half dime" and started jumping wildly in the air.

Paco and I slapped hands so hard that the dime went flying ! It was one of those moments you don't soon forget.

So thanks again guys ! As I said throughout the day "I'm just happy to be here !"

take care,

vp

I'm happy to be the first responder to this post - Congratulations on a great find!

WOW, Kevin, that half dime looks frickin' pretty! I am so happy you recovered that awesome piece of American history. When I heard you yelling, I ran over as quickly as I could. It was such a thrill to see your excitement at that time.

Like I stated on the tavern site, I am thinking that coin was lost on the defunct road and then plowed upward. It is a beauty!

We must all hit the tavern site again this Sunday! I stated to PACO tonight, "We have to keep hitting this site until nothing else surfaces."

Great job on your 1st half dime!

Kirk

congrats!!! I'm glad you found that great coin and many more oldies to come. I would love to find a half dime. WTG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Kevin, now when I think of it, you found that half dime close to where I recovered the CW hat pin...probably about 15 yards away. That is an interesting piece of knowledge.

Kirk

Congrats on finding that Half Dime. My partner just found a 1841 Half Dime this past week with his ACE 250, also in a corn field here in Ohio. They are always a GREAT FIND.

Again, Congratulations on that nice Coin Find.

HH, Ringfinder

Well done!! Watch out for those 1857 silver coins...I hear they're attracted to Civil War sites.... :)

LOL, I don't know any of you nor have I ever seen your faces, but I can just envision that in my head and what a mad scramble it must have been when the coin went flying into the air.

Beautiful find there, my friend.

Ray

Very nice Half Dime!!!

So far all of my "Half Dimes" have been Uncle Sam Play Money 10c pieces.

Excellent VP on finding one of those tiny gems! Nice to also know that thanks to those corn stalks(hiding goodies) that the field will be a good spot to hit again and again after each years plowing.

Don

Welcome and CONGRATS to you VP. Great coin you found there.
Has Kirk taught you the double fist pump chicken dance yet? ;)
Great job.

That is one sweet dig VP!! Those SE's must be hot on the silver,Capt can attest to that! Glad to see what a good one looks like.I've only found one an 1857 like yours but looks like it's been thru a fire so it's nice to see a pretty one.A big congrats!! Bootstrap

Sweet coin!! Congrats on your first half dime and kudo's to the other guys for inviting you!

Good coin in nice condition.

Is there a training course you needed to attend, prior to joining the team? Like a language or Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) course or was it just on-the-job training :D

Seriously, it was a kind thing that the special 3 allowed growth to the fabulous 4. Not many would share the goodies on a site like that.

Happy hunting & keep sharing.

That is one nice half dime! Hunting with friends that really love the hobby is a blast . I have brought people out with me before and let them use my back up and after about three pull tabs they are ready to head to the house. Thats why Tnet is so out standing. You can get excited at other peoples finds just like you were there. Big congrats on one fine coin!!

Hey VP,

I'm glad you were able to find where the PROs hunt, and become part of their club. Kirk, Zoy, and Paco, are going to be a great team to hunt with. Lots of experience, camaraderie, high-fives/double-fist pumps, and great datecting stories. Man, you're gonna love it!! I know you're going to do real well with that SE of yours. I keep dreaming about being able to swing my SE over their sites.... ::) Congrats on your half-dime. It's a beauty.

Good luck to you, bud!

HH,
CAPTN SE
