I got together with Mark for a hunt at a few sites that have been on the back burner for a while, pretty good results...
I got 2 keepers, Mark brought home a handful :hello2:
A jacket size pewter 'Infantry star in Oval' 1812 era,
got the cuff size last year :D
The other is a rather ornate lead seal, looks like a large anchor in center and a smaller one off to the side, Naval :icon_scratch:
I'll let Mark describe his own hunt, but I find it VERY odd that we both got an example of the same pewter 'I' button (and not a common find) about 500 feet apart...
Also dug another 'Toy size' pewter saucer, this one is a bit larger than the other, and has floral design, the other was plain.
I wonder if they are from a childs 'Tea Set', or are they something else :help:
A smooth copper and 18mm cupronickel coin that is a mystery...
decent hunt with a great Guy!
Thanks for looking & HH to all!

Dave,
that looks like a beautiful and desolate area,
I read about the area being settled before it became a park.
Some research about where the people were before the park will help with the oldies.
Millions of beach visitors will be losing their modern stuff, Enjoy!
Mike from Bavaria, love your scenic pix of old world areas & great finds!
Someday I'm gonna get over there & dig some goodies  HH !
Bill D. Amazing and beautiful find :o
Seems you and I may be the only finders of these on T-net.
As I stated, I got 2 in the space of a couple weeks, an issue with most of my sites is that dating of uncommon, non military finds is sketchy at best due to the fact that they are from urban areas settled since the late 16th century.
you can dig a memorial cent and a batwing buckle from the same hole.
I really appreciate your input, photo, & date info on this piece.
Here's the first one I found, plain and a bit smaller than both of our ornamented ones. HH to You :hello:
Now that i see the pic again, it's not plain, just simpler, maybe earlier ;D
The 'newer' one pictured in the OP shows classic 'Tudor Rose' design.

Herbie, congrats on the script I. That pewter toy dish is a cool find.

Can't say Thanks enough Herbie for your willingness to share your great spots with me. Just got home earlier this evening and the computer is too sluggish to post my finds. Hopefully tomorrow :icon_thumleft:.
