And I've been doing a long time. I have a Tesoro Tejon with the bigger Double "D" coil. Does pretty good. Targets are getting slimmer in the old hunting grounds. First hit the place with a Cibola with factory standard loop. Tejon is getting less and less lately. Went out two days this weekend with only the Cibola with standard loop. Went back over the areas I had criss crossed many, many times before, some not more than 20' x 20'. Pull numerous non ferrous items out including modern spent bullets, a few CW buttons and a few Minie balls of different types. I POUNDED the same areas before. So what gives? How come the cheaper turn and go machine (in very bad iron infested ground), is now whooping the machine with the larger coil. Input appreciated.

It is not the machine. It is the operator. SLOW DOWN - yes, even more. MAKE SURE you are overlapping your swings. Use a piece of rope to keep you going straight. Practice the basics. You said you've pounded it, so now WORK it. :occasion14:
