I am working a Pirate treasure project need some help

I have 5 grandchildren, but 2 are my best pals ages 11, and 7. I have gone through great lengths telling them we are Pirate descendants. I live in Florida. There are Islands in the ICW one of which looks like a flying Duck if you goggle map it. I call it "Duck Island" I tell the boys, (which my wife and I are raising), night time stories, of great Pirate battles in the ICW and there is possiblle buried treasure on "Duck Island" Anyway I made a map. I dyed white paper with tea, and I took it, with a wine bottle to the Keys on a trip, and I placed it in the rocks, so the little guy could find it.....of course. So the elder one says" I know how we can make sure this map is real" I said but it is we found it some 6 hours away in the Keys in a bottle, he said "take it to a Pawn shop, they always have specialists" haha Grandma told me when I am not around the eldest is reasearching this on the internet all the time. Anyway, this has been quite an adventure, what I am asking is if anyone could jump aboard here and let me send a picture of this map and post it (here) stating we are looking for a lost map, and join in continuing the story and the hunt.......that would be awesome.....once the boys find this treasure on the island I am going to put 2 mirrors in the treasure chest, and when they ask, I'll simply say"you boys are grandpa's greatest treasure"

I love this! what a wonderful Grandfather those little kids have! "Pirate Treasure" you can't beat that for Fun & Adventure for small Children, I can't imagine how excited they will be when they find the Treasure!!!

I'm currently building up to a Roman Treasure Hunt (Okay, MD'ing and Panning some old Roman sites in Bosnia )

If all they find in the treasure chest is two mirrors and you tell them you set this up, they are going to be disappointed and not trust you anymore. Im not sure exactly what you are going do, maybe I misunderstood. I know you have good intentions.

I did this with my two sons as well. I ended up putting costume jewlery and some silver and gold rings in the trunk.

To my new friend Truffles and to others that have participated this dream of mine is coming true wonderfully.......I have ordered a treasure chest from Ebay and I found a website that sells replica Spanish dubloons. So far so good I cant begin to thank those that have jumped in with both feet this is AWESOME and honestly we dont even know each other. Well we do now. I have made some friends for life since I started this project. Folks with fantaastic ideas, fantastic just fantastic backing me in my quest. Once I actually get everything I will try to film the dig, of course cant find it on the first day, that would be too easy. But I will try to put the dig on you tube if I can figure that out. You guys have embraced me with open arms and are making 2 grandchildrens dreams come true...........after this is over, I will never tell them any difference.........Bless you all and thank you all for accepting me........YOU ALL ROCK

Great post! and yes please you must video the lads finding the Pirates Treasure... I'm curious if there actually is a big Red "X" marking the spots of these Pirate Treasures as in the Treasure Maps

Hey truffles today I ordered the rest of my coins but while looking at the website something else jumped out at me. The guy sells real shark jaws with the teeth in them. Since I can't leave human skulls around the dig I'm going to put a set of shark jaws inside the chest too.....it's coming together should have the chest and all doubloons by midweek

What one dickens of a Grandfather's dream to bond with his grandchildren!! My brother did something similar for/with his two grand-kids in Alaska and they loved it actually all involved had a great time. This is building up to be quite a spectacular adventure/quest/thing and where are we going? To fairy tail land and quite some memories...................63bkpkr

The shark jaws, well I cant use human bones to protect the gold so why not shark jaws . Today I took two replica coins I have, and hid them in the yard (its started raining again) I wanted to see their reaction. The little guy went wild....oh cudos to the pro pointer ......man He was thanking God and screaming run around the house, then the elder one said what are you 2 doing. WE FOUND GOLD.........of course the elder one looked it up on the internet Dad, you found Spanish Gold..........the seed has been planted gang, I cant wait for the rest of my stuff to arrive......maybe by next weekend we will be off the Duck Island.....Truffles I couldnt have done this without you friend.........if you were here I'd give you a bear hug!!!!!!! you really are a diamond,i have a three year old girl who i love dearly i take her metal detecting now but she sees it as a chore i think at the moment and is more interested in the worms in our lovely uk soil than any potential find but i like taking her anyway.
i love the romance in this story and the fact that you as a grandparent and for whatever reason are raising these kids,and going to the lengths you do and taking the time to keep them interested and engaged is fantastic.
and i think apart from them being the best thing that ever happened to you the same applies in reverse these kids have no idea how lucky they are and god bless you mate you deserve a medal and thanks for making my day brighter,you bought a tear to the eye of a hardened pessimist.
