Before I bought the safari I had the garrett 350. I wanted to upgrade so I purchased the minelab safari.I really wanted the 705 but the sales guy talked me into this one...Iam pulling my hair out and digging everything. .It takes me a long time to dig so deep..Anyway I need some help On knowing what numbers to dig and what ones to walk away. ..please help!!!

I have the safari, learn the tones first. Set up a test area and lay coins down and swing over them. That's how I learned the machine. You will love it once u get on to it.

Just take it slow,Man read that manuel until it makes complete sence also watch the youtube vids alot of guys explain how to use & there settings etc each new machine to anyone will take a good deal of time to fully learn & understand dont give up u will get it

The most important bit of advice you can get when moving up to an FBS machine....SLOW DOWN!
If you're sweep is faster than 3sec minimum in each direction, you're going too fast.

Congrats, you'll be amazed at the difference between your last machine. I would order the Safari book from Andy Sabisch. (Goggle search it) I'm reading the one on Etrac and its really cleared things up for me!

I just found it at Kellyco. The Minelab Quattro and Safari Handbook. $14.95

Thanks for the tips. .guess I have to keep plugging away....going down the beach this weekend. .see how it works in the sand and salt.???

If you submerge your coil/lower rod hunting first drop. Be very careful and don't raise coil up above the control box to drain water from rod. Saltwater can run down to control box and cause major problems
