I can't believe I am saying this....

I just got back from NV close to Pyramid. I found my usual couple of pocketfuls of agates, mostly ignored all the jasper flakes, (but had to pick up a couple of dozen anyway)...(here are a few)

But the real fun was this brown jasper scraper/knife....IT FITS IN MY HAND!!! it even has a flaked off knock-out for my thumb! I laughed so hard I nearly pissed myself.

Looks like all the same various colored jasper flakes I would find along the upper Arkansas River in Chaffee County Colorado.

I've dredged that Arkansas River many times down river from the bridge! Many great times there w/ friends !

When I see artifacts like this, I wonder how long it's been laying there and what was made from these chips.

in the desert nothing covers stuff over time, you can get a patina over time, but many times i will sit at a rock and at my feet are several flakes from the same core...sitting where they lay for...who knows...hundreds of years.
