I couldn't swing the coil today...or ride the Harley...but here's what I found.

I found some peace...relaxation...and some quality time with my father... and man's best friend :icon_thumleft:

Instead of "exploring" with my Explorer SE...I explored some woods. :D

Behind every successful hunting day...lies a sweet backup plan. :hello2:

I went to help my dad mow 10 acres before it started pouring. :o

5 hours later we were done so I got the SE out. Within 15 minutes the lightning just about jolted my britches off :laughing9:...and we had a 30 minute downpour....so the SE went back in the car. ???

Plan B would have been a nice Harley ride :icon_sunny:...but there was water standing all over the roads :-\

Plan C.....well....you see it :headbang:

My knees are bad from many years of motocross racing and a bad accident a few years ago....so I figure at age 46...4 wheelin' is more my style and speed. ;D

Any of the 3 plans were NO lose situations....but plan C allowed for my buddy Hercules to hit the trails with me. :icon_thumleft:

He is my faithful friend. :angel7: and he absolutely loves to ride with me....so I had my dad snap a couple of shots of us before we got all mudded up 8)

My dad is not well...but he is a strong feller' :icon_thumleft:...and getting to spend the day with him is wonderful. No amount of rain or storms can mess that up :angel7:

I hope you all get some hunting in this weekend. :hello2: I am pretty much under water here...so please find some goodies for me :hello:

Re: I couldn't swing the coil today...or ride the Harley...but here's what I found.

Bryce, I needed to see this post. My dad is 82, and it seems i'm always too busy, or so i think to spend time with him. When a person reaches that age, nothing is gauranteed. After reading Allens reply to your post, i'm dropping everything today and we're gonna hang out.
Thanks guys, I needed to get back to reality..
One thing about all your moisture up there. It makes for good detecting! HH. Ruffneck....

I guess "quality time" and "diversity" are the key of life!
I'm SLOWLY learning how to not get TOO upset when I can't detect! :D
I definately appreciate time with my dad, (as he's my only living parent also), except we're 3 states away from each other, so it's not as often as I'd like.
Looks like fun Bryce! Cool dog too!

You just made banner again in my book. My father worked hard all his life, retired, got sick and passed away. Didn't get to enjoy the fruits of his labor for very long. I value all the time we had together and like allen, I miss him. :'(
Good luck
Randy

Bryce, I am sure you have already tried to teach the pooch how to sniff out old silver! ;D In any case, wish your Father a Happy Fathers Day this weekend for me my friend. Spend every moment you can because that is true treasure....Goodluck out there when the rain stops and be careful on the Quad! jgas

You made the right choice. If you would have said a Honda then you'd have a tough choice, but as it stands....at least you picked the right quad!!! :D

Hope you had fun with your Dad!

Mike

Re: I couldn't swing the coil today...or ride the Harley...but here's what I found.

What? No monkey? ;D

I miss my dad, too. He would have loved the idea of getting free money out of the ground and would definitely be into hunting if he was here. I'm glad you and your dad are getting some quality time together!

What a great dog! Black Lab - my favorite breed!

Is there a broken down SE in that cammo bag on the front of that ATV? :icon_pirat:

I actually put the SE back in the car after the lightning nearly shocked my shorts off :D
It is nice to be able to spend some quality time with dad....and Hercules helps keep me going.

Re: I couldn't swing the coil today...or ride the Harley...but here's what I found.

Sounds like a great day to me!

Glad you got to spend some quality time with your dad!

I know what you mean about wet! I am at Great Lakes by Chicago for my daughter's graduation from boot camp.
My van looked like a submarine when I dropped her off during the storm last night!

My dad is a long way away, and being treated for cancer. So, I am glad you got some quality time with yours!

Best to you!
Mark

ps I didn't realize you were sooo much older than I am! I am only 45.
