I.D. assistance please

It definitely looks like bone. The problem is that it looks highly worn on the one end. My SWAG is that its a foot or flipper bone.

Yeah no doubt it's fossil.
It is definitely worn on one end and broken on the other.
I'm assuming the broken piece would have matched the side across from it and looking at the angle of the worn end it doesn't seem it would have been much longer ..to me anyway.
Any guess?

I don't think the other end is broken very badly. I think you are looking at pretty much what is was originally like.

Looks better than I would at that age.
Honestly though..most of it is there.
Plenty enough to ID.
I think Jason is on the right track..I'm searching different animals and reptiles now.

You say Jason is on the right track, I don't see his post or know what he said, but is it a Giant Ground Sloth claw??

It has the right shape for a claw core.
I've honestly never handled one so I'm not sure.
It has bone matrix on the interior of an outer layer.. I was thinking a claw core would be one solid mass.



I can see from the interior that most of it's length is solid bone.
I have found sloth teeth there.
