Hi, i dug up these two items detecting. i need some positive i.d. on them if anyone knows about them. thank you

The first looks like an Indian Wars era belt buckle. We would need to see detailed picutes of the back to determine if it is an original.

The second could be a radiator badge from an early Ford automobile or tractor.

The rectangular buckle showing "US" inside an oval is a "Hagner Pattern" US Army waist belt plate for infantry and cavalry Enlisted-men (non-officers), in use from 1872 to 1902. See pages 548-550 in the book "American Military Belt Plates" by O'Donnell & Campbell.

DCMatt is right... that type of buckle has been reproduced for battle re-enactors, so we'll need to see some well-focused closeup photos of its back to know with certainty that it is not a repro.

Gold plated Ford badge?

I've been an antique car owner for several decades. And, while I am NOT a Ford guy, I've never seen or heard of a gold plated Ford script oval.

it is very shiny gold colored metal flaking off the copper, i will take more clear/ detailed pics of the badge and the buckle, as i am the only person in the world without a cam on my cellphone, i will have to use a friends' cell
