I DID IT, I think I did it, I'm pretty sure I did it....
Went out this morning for a short hunt. As I was walking to the water I got a hit in the sand. A pull tab. **sigh** I walked into the water and within the first 15 minutes I got a solid hit. No matter how I moved the coil over the target it was SOLID. I scooped it up and in my scoop was GOLD! Well it looked like gold. Wouldn't you know I left my hunting glasses in the car and couldn't tell what it said on the inside of the ring. I could tell there was some writing but... couldn't make it out. It is very worn. I hunted for about 45 minutes more and then had to leave. All in all I was only there about an hour. When I got back to the car I put my other glasses on and there was one initial and a date visible. No jewelry marks or if there were they are worn off. I did say the ring is well worn. There is even a small nick in the ring. Without testing of some kind I am 95% sure that this is gold. Well I'M GOING TO CONSIDER THAT IT IS!
The date is 14 years old. My total for this morning was 1 nickel, 1 penny, 1 pull tab and the ring. I'll take it.
