OK, skeptics, gosh, you are so smart you got me this time.
Because I have tinpan on ignore, I cannot see what he posts unless someone quotes him in their post. That being said and since I don't see anyone quoting him or SWR, I took him off ignore for a moment to see if he had responded in any of the posts I could not see.
Guess what. HE DID. Dang, it's a wonderful and thought out post. He's fantastic. He's really showing promise.
Here is what he said at Post #550. ”Some mders use pinpointers to keep the hole they dig small .Often locals do not like their parks, ovals and pitches looking chewed up for numerous reasons.” Can you imagine that, he's thought about hole size.
Now Jim at post #557 says: "Pinpointers are for pinpointing. DUH. It saves time instead of wasting it grabbing handfuls of dirt." Jim doesn't want to waste time.
So tinpan says using pinpointers help to keep holes smaller and JerseyJim says using pinponters saves time and makes it easier to find the target. WOW. To these I say, NO KIDDING Jack. Sounds like you two were born just yesterday.
Now here are my reasons why I think people, including myself, use pinpointers. In my case, I use my MD as a pinpointing tool with my dowsing shots.
GET REAL CLOSE TO YOUR SCREEN BOYS SO YOU CAN SEE BETTER AND CAREFULLY READ THE FOLLOWING. Here are my reasons:
1. I don't want to WASTE TIME GRABBING HANDFULS OF DIRT.
2. I DON’T WANT TO DIG LARGE HOLES in city parks and other public places where lawns have been nicely manicured.
3. Pinointing makes it easier to locate hard to find targets.
4. Many small targets are lost in the primary searching phase and a pinpointer helps prevent that loss.
So, just like everyone else around here with their pinpinters of all makes, models, and styles, I pinpoint the target I dowsed with my MD to accomplish all the above, and I always will. SAVVY?
These have been my reasons all along and I listed two more than what you did. I'm miles ahead of you two.
I wonder if tinpan ever thought of saving time or if Jim ever thought of hole size? You know, these two are real scholars.
Hey Art: Have you ever used an Ice pick to probe for ot to pinpoint a target? I have. You know, Ice picks are very sophisticated and scientific tools.
