I found another gold ring today!

I went back to the club where I found the gold Masonic ring that I gave back to the owner and struck gold again. This time a mans 1978 high school class ring. With a little luck and a call to the school I should be able to return this one. This is my 17th class ring and so far I have identified the owners to 12 of them and returned 11. (For some reason one person would not return my calls and her mother said she probably doesn’t want it back. Go figure. I’ll take the $125 scrap money.)





I have been to the club 5 times in the past couple of weeks and have found three gold rings (one with 7 small diamonds) a silver ring, 2 civil war round balls, a Minnie ball, 3 silver coins and a nice pile of clad. Part of the club’s property was the site of a civil war skirmish. It was a small engagement and this is on the edge of the action. The main part of the skirmish took place across the road and is a historic site and cannot be detected.







Man I am glad I decided to renew my permission and go back to this place. (I detected it some in 2008 and 2009. Found a few silvers and 4 civil war items. I am using a better detector, CZ-21 instead of Fisher 1280x, and it is making a difference.

I work on an odd detecting calendar based on when I started detecting. My 16th year will end on April 30 and it is closing out verrrrry nicely.

Nice finds. Sounds like that club site is really working out! Good work offering the rings back to the owners too, the gratification of getting the ring back to the owner will out weigh whatever cash you'd get at a scrap place. Thanks for posting.
