In the last box of nickels that I searched I found my 6th Liberty V nickel. It is dated 1898 but is in only G-4 condition with a BV of $4.00. But its not every day we find 114 yr old coins. I also found a dateless Buffalo & a 1944D War nickel. Plus got a Canadian & 27 pre '60. So I got 3 generations of collectible nickels in 1 box.

My husband calls that a trifecta when he pulls all 3 out the same box. Congrats!

Nice going! What's your average on V nickels a box? I'm sure it's very miniscule, just curious.

I stated its only my 6th Lib. V. I don't know how many boxes I searched so far. They are hard to find if I only found 6.

I saw that I just wasn't sure how long you have been hunting. Thanks for the reply! :)

Use some Nic A date or vinegar to get a date off that buff

That's not a G4. That's AG, if it even grades clean...

why are you always commenting something negative? this is a friendly forum where we are supposed to support eachother's finds... great coin TJD, keep up the search!

I'm educating, not being negative. It's not a G4, I figured the OP would like to know that. I didn't say anything overly negative, just issued my opinion on the coin.

I did forget to say it's a nice find. Not every day you pull a 19th century coin out of a roll.
