I hit a local beach last saturday. The weather was terrible and I only dug pulltabs. The rain was pouring down my cheeks and it was so cold I couldn´t feel my fingers. I was about to give up but something made me keep searching, and I´m glad I did. I got a typically pulltabsignal but I dug it anyway, and guess if I got surprised? Instead of trash I saw something glimmering in the hole. I held my breath and picked up what turned to be this beautiful 18k gold ring. I was stunned, this was my second gold ring ever... When I came home and took a closer look I was able to read the name Charles in the ring. Sometimes I´m a lucky boy... :hello2:

Beautiful old ring congrats! Yep you paid your dues digging pull tabs and you got your reward, GOLD!

Congrats on a beautiful ring. It sure has an old look to it, at first glance I though Roman but then I saw the hallmarks.
You are hard core for sure.

I know why you thought that. Carnelian was popular in the Roman period & the style of the shoulders are not far of. So it is kind of a 'Roman Style' modern take.

Shiny...battery money!

very nice. looks pretty old too

Very Nice Gold Find,Congratulations.

Thanks for your interest and kind words. The ring is probably from 1940-50 and the stone is a carnelian. I'll take it to a goldsmith tomorrow to evaluate and get some more information about it. I don´t think it´s of high value, but it doesn´t matter, I wont sell it anyway... ;)

Great looking ring... Congrats!

From a value standpoint it may not be the "Holy Grail" but 18K gold with a beautiful carnelian in a regal setting ! Sounds like the cat's
pajamas to me !!! (if the fit is right , I'd wear that rascal most of the time )

I agree with you but I don´t think it would fit a fifteen years old boy like me.... Hahahha :laughing7:

Sorry for the double post - I have tried to remove one with no success .

I just came from the goldsmith. The ring was made in Sweden 1946 and the stone is a carnelian. The value is about 100 dollars but it doesn't matter, the ring is worth so much more for me and I would never even consider selling it... ;)

good attitude

That ring is a beauty! $100 seems a bit low. He was probably feeling you out for a sale. If he was making an offer it might really be worth $150 or $200. But of course gold weight is a big factor

Yeah tell him to make you one just like it for $100 and see what he says....

Sweet ring! B hard to resist wearing that one. Congrats on a wonderful find!!

Man that so would be on my finger from this point on. I am always looking for my next good luck charm to wear when I go metal detecting and that sure would be one of them.:occasion14:

How beautiful! Yeah, lucky but also persevering. Nice work.
