White's DFX 300 Sunray DX-1 probe/ XLT Sunray XL-1 probe
Its been some time since I posted here and I have not been hunting for over a year.
I dusted off the XLT and walked over into one of the surrounding cow fields.
It was not the most encouraging hunt and I was heading back for the fence with junk.
Last target was a 60 VDI and this was under the plug at 5 inches.

Not sure of the year Mid 1700s I think
15.5 mm

It was good to get out but I need to find some fresh sites.

Congratulation.

Congrats on your first Spanish! Since it is a "bust" or "portrait" type it would have to be after 1772.

THE DATE IS GOING TO BE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE COIN ON YOUR 3RD PIC, TO THE LEFT OF THE M(MINT MARK, MEXICO CITY). THESE HALF REALES WERE USED IN US UNTIL 1857ISH

I'd wear that one !

Congrats.

After doing some digging online I think it was minted from 1748 to 1760 under Ferdinand VI. There is still FRD VI visible on the shield side.

Mexican colonial coinage, 1536-1822 - CoinFactsWiki

Still my oldest coin find to date and silver at that.
I still like my younger US coins better :)
