Isn't it funny how when we find certain things we automatically think of certain people on Tnet. 
This past week Lisa and I went hunting on Monday looking for an old site. It's an old school site in a pasture that hasn't been cut for years.
We traipsed through knee high weeds and burrs for a good couple of hours. I looked up once to see Lisa jumping around chasing rabbits out of their hiding places! 
We found a few relics there but going to have to let a couple of freezes tamp down the grass before we go back. I think we were both holding our breath hoping not to scare out a snake or two. The only thing I kept from that site was a motor club emblem...and I really smashed it while digging it up. ![:-\](https://www.treasurenet.com/smilies/undecided.gif "Undecided :-\")
After that fun adventure, we spent another couple of hours in the front yard of the homesite that's owned by the same gentleman as the pasture.
Most of the keepers were 6 to 8 inches here. Really odd, cause most of the finds around here are usually no deeper than 3 or 4 inches.
Fill dirt, maybe? Anyhow, I ended up with a '50 Silver Rosie, five wheats ranging from the 20's to the 40's, a pretty little pewter button, a lock and a brass tax token and the ME zipper pull.
On Wednesday we went back to the same site and hunted the back yard. My first keeper from there was this neat Cracker Jack pin! Immediately thought about Rob and how he has this great Cracker Jack collection going. Only other mentionables that day was a wheat and a tax token.
On Friday, I managed to convince Lisa that she really didn't have anything more important to do than go hunting, so we headed out to a new site that we had found on a 1892 map. The owner happened to be the brother of the last place we hunted so we didn't figure it would be that difficult to obtain permission to hunt. WRONG! Wow, did we ever have to do some fast talking! Promised all kinds of things! "No sir, you won't even know we've been here!" Oh, yes sir, we'll be happy to show you anything we find!" "We won't stay any longer than you want us too!" After fifteen minutes of convincing, we started our hunt. 
Not long after, the owner comes out into the yard checking on us and curious as to what we had found and how does that thing work? Lisa gives him a quick lesson and he's warming up to us like butter on a pancake. We even invited him to come along and hunt with us sometime. Before the day was over we had a new friend made.
We learned that the now existing home was built on the same spot as the old log cabin that was once there. That kinda put a damper on things, but we still managed a few keepers.
Lucky for Lisa the cows were on the other side of the fence here. (she hates hunting with the cows)
Awesome views, even though we had lots of fog hanging around on Friday.
As we were loading up, I noticed a visitor scooting by. Barely gave me enough time to snap a picture...
And here's what I ended up with from that site...
1883 Injun, flat penny with the psalm on it, some little something from Georgia and something that looks maybe like a cuff link? Another ME zipper pull and a what's it.
Had fun. Looking forward to this weeks hunts.
