I found this one!!!!

Went to the same area where my brother found the plate/buckle last week. This week was my turn.

It different than Johns, has a wreath around the eagle. It appeared to be in a fire coming out of the ground. I lightly cleaned the char off of it with toothpaste. It cleaned up very nice.

My brother said lots of black things come up out of the ground here. I know they burned the clothes of diseased soldiers. Maybe that explains it.

We go back on Friday. Hopefully it will dry out by then. Rained alot this week.

This one still looks different than my find. Now, I'm wondering if it's the same era. I do agree that it's not an officer's plate, though.
