The finds weren't much, but I did get the Hubby another keeper, I bet you can figure this one out.

I had a ball! After having my Father in-law her for 15 days and some of his friends for 4 days, I needed to get out! :D So I guess what I'm saying (especially for the new folks) is you can't find a banner find every time, heck you'll be lucky if you ever do. But to get out there, discover whatever tiny piece of history you can, enjoy the peace, the thrill of the hunt, and above all else have some fun? I'm all over it! :)

So my day........I only had a couple hours, so I hit a foundation I thought would be productive? No real good hits, found a bunch of old barb wire fence and some "square fencing" that would drive you nuts, a rusty bucket, an old shovel minus the handle, the find of the half hour.....a couple old nails. :D

I really wanted to get back to the Grist mill and search some more around that old well. Drove the 1/4 mile and found these young turkeys in the field. I only could see their heads poking above the grass, I had to stop and get you some pictures. :) Now if there is a well there must have been a structure right? I've been trying to find the path from the house to the well. Got a great silver hit between a rock and a large tree near the well, yeah I got a little excited thinking, maybe just maybe.....the home owners buried "something" there? I dug and I dug for this silver looking squashed thingy. :D Taking my time, I ventured a little further and sure enough found some old brick and mortar, sweet! Got a decent hit on the detector.......fund a cache of nails, alright a pocket spill. :D Some old glass and pottery, the hole was full of "Foundation" pieces. Bummer, curfew was up! :( Can't make the Hubby worry. :-\

I really can't wait to get back there, even if the finds weren't the best. It was a great day! :)

Nana and Sis, I was going to type up a nice reply last night, but my sister in-law called from AZ and we (she :D) talked for and hour and 20 min. :-\ Can't everyone just get along? There's no place like Bama, there's no place like Bama, calgon take me away!!! 8)

Thanks folks! Being born and raised here, not a big traveler, you tend to forget not everyone has the beauty of country woodsy roads. And yes mosquito's that could carry you away, and horse flies the size of a horse!

I am deciding how I want to explore inside that well? That day the frog was not impressed with me as it was, all he was trying to do was bask in the sun, when this coil came swinging at his head and scared the daylights out of us both!

I have a few days off coming up, I'll have to beat the heat, but I'll be back there with a vengeance. OK, OK, a SLOW vengeance!

Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing!

Steve
