went to the state park beach today for about 2 1/2 hours.....didn't find SQUAT except for a few pull tabs and very few coins and 1 junk kids ring....had plenty of scenery to keep me occupied tho.............decided to try a new "beach"....a place everyone around here calls "Redneck Beach" ...it's just a grassy spot on the lake with a parking lot....lot of partying has taken place there....get about 2 feet deep in the water and get a signal...turned out to be a little wad of lead or something BUT in the scoop was this sweet little arrow head (penny for size).....my first ever found....I'm no expert on these so if anyone has any idea as to how old it may be please enlighten me......ok thanx for letting me rant... still looking for my first "gold found" post lol

A stunning find, Marty. Congrats on your 1st...hope you find many more. Did you post a pic in Indian Artifacts? Many there may be able to help ID it.

;) RR

Congrats Marty, that is one beautiful point!

From the few books I have on points it appears to be from the middle Woodland period, 500 B.C. to A.D. 500, similar to a Webb Complex blade found in Delaware and Southern Maryland. However, there are many types and yours if from the deep south so maybe someone will chime in with a more precise answer.

VERY NICE find, Marty!
Congrats! Nana :)

very nice indeed ---I found a bit of amber that way looking for a signal at the beach ---its even got a little slug bug in it---cool find ---Ivan

holy crap that is nice. i think it is a very old style too.
to me it looks like a combonation of different ones i have seen.
it looks Paleo on the back end but Early Woodland on the tip.

Great patina too :o

I found a couple dirty hot wheels today, wanna trade?
