soon you won't remember the old site and you'll be saying what a great site this is :weee:

It's so true! We've seen this happen a lot actually and it's funny how it cycles :)

That placement is targeted to the discussions on the site, but it might override depending on your browsing history to other internet websites.

I am kind of new here and didn't participate on the board with the old software, but I am a Network Administrator with 11 years experience and I have to say that even with the bumps in the road over the last 48 hours the team that transitioned the board has done a good job.

Another forum that I am subscribed to went through a similar change, and let me tell you we went through HELL!!! Its hosted over at Forumer, and those guys are class-A MORONS!!! After losing a good number of customers from all of the blatant FAIL, they had to restore the boards back to the original phpbb software. They still have no clue as to how to upgrade the software to this day!

I can understand the frustration of dealing with change, but that's really all anyone has to complain about. I can see the team here is doing what they can to make as many people happy as possible. You might not like the software they are using, but is that really the only reason you are here? The only reasons I visit a forum is because of the content I might be interested in, the people in the community...or BOTH!

There seems to be a great community of people here and I'd hate to see that change because of a software update. I would encourage all of you to stick around and just give it a chance.

/Steps down from soapbox.;)

The Asian girls are on the top of my page too. I'm using Mozilla Firefox 10.0.2. I'd like to ask for a change: Is it possible to have more post per page withOUT making the font smaller? Thanks, Breezie

The ads are based on your browsing history as they are served by google... not sure why they would be showing up for you ;)

However, are you talking about the number of POSTS per page in THREADS or number of THREADS per page?

BTW, the domain asiamatchonline.com has been banned from serving ads here. But it'll take an hour to take effect.

Jim no offense, but is hard for someone who just got here to miss the original TN, many of us have been here many years.

Many of us would like to know, what was wrong with the original format that was so impossible to fix? Bandwidth can be added, storage space can be added, memory can be added, what was it that was so wrong or broke that it meant TreasureNet had to be completely scrapped.?

Dont get me wrong, I support TN, I have personally ran several Charter Membership drives over the years to help Marc, I have recruited many new charter members doing this, I recruited so many new members Marc extended my Charter Membership last year for 5 years, that was removed with the new ownership and I can understand that...

Would just like to know what was so wrong.....

Is there going to be a way to mark a "What Is It" thread "solved"? The "Green Check" was actually a part of our lingo around here. And btw the sticky thread on how to mark a thread solved using the old software is still there.

Though maybe you should leave it up so I can have a reminder of the good old days :(

I do understand the necessity of an updated admin interface to keep the forum running. There are many features I do like, I guess a lot of it will be just "getting used to." But while we're on the subject of changes, the list of posts seems too bulky. I liked the gridded pattern they had before, which allowed quick scanning of posters and topics. Also, the new way of keeping track of unread posts (they used to change color) does not seem to update unless you refresh the page, which doesn't happen if you press the back button. It was a real simple way of keeping track of what you read and didn't while on the same computer. However, it does seem like a step up when using different devices. Other than that, I really enjoy all the new features and design. The profiles seem slicker and there are many new features to try out. I want to thank you guys for improving the site, if it weren't for your hard work, this place would stagnate. I'm sure a lot of these features will become second nature in time, and we'll have this conversation again.

We can definitely add this back in. I will add this to the list of things to do on Monday. I'll get that old sticky unstuck and hopefully replaced with the new one once we get it going.

Instead of bolding threads it might be possible for this software to use a different color. I'll have to investigate that and see if it's something we can give users as an option.
