I need some advice

A friend wants to trade a new surfmaster pro dual field for a new sand shark He is someone I can trust

Both are good detectors. The Dual Field is probably the better of the two for depth and sensitivity.
Just an opinion, not gospel.

If the White's doesn't work well for you, you two won't be friends anymore. Keep your Sand Shark.

I have both. Do not use the sand hark much. It ha both the 8 and 7 inch coils.
The Dual Field is a monster for depth, but with the 12 inch coil, not one you
would want to use just any where, best in water with out much junk and deep
targets.
