Hi mate. No it was from about 12yrs ago in Queensland I think.
Its bottoming out the suspension on the ute 😂
Lots up there in Qld that get that big they reckon. Clermont Goldfields area there's a lot.
I don't know that guy. But I used to know some guys that hunt pigs using Mastiff cross Pitbull dogs with thick leather breastplates on the dogs and the dogs would chase them down and catch them and the guys would just finish it off with big hunting knives! No guns. I know a guy that hunts deer that way too. They're loco I reckon 😆

Dog spray 12 to 15 ft generally 1% capsaicin
Bear spray 20 to 40 feet generally 2% capsaicin

Note what he says here - big difference in types of spray. The 2% is necessary to penetrate the thick fur and hide of a bear! Go to Cabelas/BassPro and get a large canister with a belt carrier.

Also, I'd suggest a FOGGER spray, not a direct stream. It will put out a huge cloud, so aim is not important.

Hi. No, that's just how they like to hunt them. Its a thing in New Zealand too. Just dogs and big sharp knives. No restrictions on killing feral pigs here shooting wise, govt wants them gone. Just some like doing it with the dogs and knives!

Hunting up this video though I see its popular in the US too!

Hi mate. I don't know, the guys I knew and know I wouldn't say they were look at me type tough guys. In fact there's many other people iv met that if I was asked to pick id have picked them for that type of hunting over the ones that actually do it. Just pretty much everyday guys, so much so I was "seriously! You just hunt with dogs and a knife?" Would never have picked them for it.
Good survival skill though I guess. Perhaps the way the world has become in the past decade has driven that type of thing, survival skills and wanting to be able to simply live off of the land!

Leg hold traps need to be banned forever. They cripple anything that steps into them. Cats, dogs, a fawn and so on. If I ever found my cat or dog in a leg hold trap, that trapper would never set a trap in my area again...

Last year one of my teachers was Australian and he explained it was taking 14 to 16 bullets per emu to bring them down. I thought maybe those hand to hand combat hog killers might have been helpful back then.

Ahh, yeah the Govt called in the army to shoot them with machine guns 😄
Was a total failure. Quite bizarre really. When I first heard about it yrs ago I didn't believe it, it sounded so stupid! Still does to be honest.
They'd have had more success I reckon just erecting giant pens, putting a ton of feed in them and just closing the gate when they had enough in them.

Funny story... Back in 2002 my garage sale got attacked by an emu. I was having a garage sale and there were 3 or 4 people there looking at stuff when this emu just runs right through the center of people goes about 100 feet, does an about face and comes back. By now one of the guys looking at stuff had picked up a shovel I was selling.

The emu ran back the same way he came and the guy tried to club it but that bird ducked right under his shot and then ran into the field and disappeared.

We thought he was making it up too until he showed us a video about it. The first (and I think only?) armistice with emus.

Only been on one wild boar hunt and must say it ranks in my top 5 of enjoyable hunts. Had the meat done by the local butcher where I was and along with Dall Sheep this wild boar for my taste buds are among the best. I had a full body taxidermy mount done.
