I found this ring and debated wether to get it appraised or not. I finally decided to do so because of curiosity. I really wasn’t expecting this so imagine my surprise. Looks like I might be able to get some waterproof headphones and some other needed gear after I sell it :laughing7: Thanks for looking and good luck out there.

Congrats on a great looking ring (and value) !

So, an appraisal is dumb, a waist of time but taking it to a pawn shop is the smart thing to do :icon_scratch:

I would never take anything worth any money to a pawn shop, I have seen and heard about so many people getting screw over. I bought a diamond tester since I have no clue about diamonds and didn’t want to take any chances. Now with this appraisal I can sell for more then the gold value I would’ve gotten offered or I can keep the ring and insure it. I hope your brother is still finding some nice rings and selling them elsewhere. HH

No pawn shops for me. Thanks for the kind words Tommy, I hope that new detector is treating you good. HH

Well you are saying you may have paid for your detector and you show an "appraisal" with a price higher than you could buy a new one for at the jewelry stores around here. All I am saying is if you actually go out to sell it to get real cash money you will be lucky to ACTUALLY get a lot less than one half your "appraisal". If you were to sell it, where would you go?? There are basically only pawn and jewelry stores as prospective customers and they will not give you anywhere near your appraisal price. I only say this because I have been there and have owned a jewelry shop, have bought and sold a lot of used jewelry. It is a nice find indeed, but it will never get you the "appraisal" price you show. Ask the guy who did the appraisal how much actual cash he would give you.

Sweet ring! Grats and good luck on the sale.

Great find...congrats...gunsil is right...about 800 dollars would be a good offer with that appraisal...an appraisal is no where close to what you can sell for....just the way it is.

Awesome find man congrats! The appraisal helps but as Gunsil said you'll most likely get less than half the value unfortunately..

Beautiful ring, RaCSo!
(Come on, folks, it's just Oscar backwards. 3/3 misspellings)

Very nice ring, but that appraisal won't do you any good if you try to sell it. To get a real value, take it to a couple of jewelry and/or pawn shops and see what they offer you. I bet it is a whole lot less that one half your "appraisal".
Agreed, that is an insurance value for replacement, not a true second-hand market value.

Wow, so many people that lack common sense in the U.S and I guess that disease is also present in other countries. Never did a mention I was going to get the money mentioned in the appraisal. I also never said what detector I owned, and in case you were wondering it’s an equinox 800 and that translates to $900 or less for those of us who have done hard time (veterans). Common sense tells me that selling stuff to a dealer/jewelry store is not the way to go. I only sell to private parties in person or via the various selling sites. Now that I have an appraisal I can ask whatever I want for the item and the buyer can offer whatever he wants, everybody wins. You all can do things your way and I will just use common sense. Have a nice day/life :occasion18:

Great find, Rasco. If it was me, I would save it for retirement.

I don't know why you are so mad at everyone...no one said you weren't going to get as much as you thought...everyone was just giving info on appraisal value compared to resale value...your right, selling to an individual that likes the ring is the way to get the most for it...your probably mad at me again for saying that.

Hey Rasco, the ring on the upper left is mine, I lost it some time back, ill PM you my address so you can drop it in an envelope to mail back to me.

Thanks for finding it
