But then it hit me, I do have something! Trade type finds are few and far between in my area. (1 trade silver brooch in a combined 35 years digging)

Of course my trade find is the axe.

I really feel sorry for you Eastern guys with all the history.

Nice trade axe! I'm sure if you look again you will find that you have more Fur Trade artifacts than you think. I'm sure you will be here posting again soon!

It is very possible we have dug a few small odds and ends and didn't recognize them as being trade items. The quality, eyeballs pop out of your head type trade finds, well they don't happen often, if really at all in these parts. Of course I'm not complaining about my own stomping grounds, just have a taste for many types of dug finds I'll never get my coil over. A Mass tree coin and GW button are others on my list of finds that will never, or should never happen here.... but this is detecting!

Thats a sweet display, I like the axe, really like the cannonballs too!! Not much chance of one out west in the prairies. lol
It is not entirely impossible though as a local story has it that the XY company buried their cannon between trading seasons in the early 1800's and never returned. That would be awesome!!
