For those who may be thinking the icon has a larger screen

Notice how large the target ID numbers are compared to the Deus 2

I will say the backlight is much brighter on the icon

Obviously the screen is larger compared to the Deus and ORX.

The display is larger, but the target ID numbers themselves are actually about the same size (at least when measuring them on my screen on the side-by-side photo). That brighter backlight does look nice though.

They are similar in size but the Deus 2 has slightly taller numbers

I don't know how many of you here have an icon unit. However from my own little test bed runs with the targets I have in the ground the icon with just using the speaker on the icons remote is not as loud as the Deus 2 is using just the speakers remote on deeper targets

However the sound is much better when the icon is paired with a set of backphones

Also for you guys who may be thinking of getting just the remote like I did and pairing it with your stock Deus 2 FMF coil the selectable mono frequencies are 3 instead of just 2 with the stock icon 11 inch coil.

The frequencies are 4.4khz, 17.6khz and 32khz.

I also emailed XP about the highest frequency used in FMF mode with the Deus 2 stock coils and they said the highest FMF frequency is 40khz.

I am pleased with this myself.

And if you have a regular non stereo original set of ws6 backphones they will pair with the icon remote with the 4.2 version firmware. ..it makes a big difference in the audio while using backphones along with the icon remote on deeper targets.

Great post! The Icon is much easier to navigate than the XP Deus II for sure.
