If you could live anywhere in the U.S., where would you be?

Roy, New Mexico.

It brings back fond memories. :)

I second that.........New Mexico!

or north carolina coast......or south carolina coast......i love to surf also.

I think Georgia is my choice for the history, population, and variety of artifacts. You have early settlements, wars, very old gold fields, and decent weather.

Hard question for me...

I can narrow it down to two. First Western New York where I found my first Rev. War item and then Eastern North Carolina where I had found some great Civil War buttons and bullets(thrown away by ex-wife). Too much history to narrow it down further!

Oregon. ;)

After that, a quick second would be anywhere on the eastern seaboard.

From a pure detecting standpoint it would have to be the Atlantic coast and specifically the population centers from Virginia to Massachusetts.

Basically, the Mid Atlantic/ Northeastern region.

Florida Keys with a second choice of South Carolina's Santee Cooper for some Bass fishing and underwater detecting. I spent a summer there and had a ball drifting around the reservoir. Even had a couple cotton mouths fall out of trees into the boat, what fun that was........

I like Oregon and Washington State for the scenery, but for treasure hunting, New England, fer shure!

New Mexico would be about choice number 3 for me. Boothbay, Maine, would be number 2, and Denali, Alaska would be number 1 Bodyguard

Since Reading the posts here,
& how alot of you put up with

"No Detecting Signs"

"Looking over your Shoulders for Attackers,
& having to carry a gun to feel safe. even in the woods"

"Irate Busy-Bodies"

"People who hate the word TreasureHunter"

Etc. Etc.

I'll stay where I am, Thank You.

;D Jeff

Ahhh yes,"Pennsylvania Beautiful." :) After living in S.Florida for the past 25 years,i'll say anywhere that has a change of seasons and a spot of old farmland with a creek running through it,an old dump, a few barns and an old foundation or two, preferably on the outskirts of Charleston S.C..

In the penthouse of the Smithsonian. :D

For scenery, Washington State. From a detecting point of view, I'd have to stay put and stick around in NYC. Lot's of places to hit, and they're usually public. Lots of old parks here in the city.

From a metal detecting standpoint...

Boston, MASS, Williamsburgh VA or in upstate NY.

From a living perspective...

West Palm Beach FL or Malibu, CA
