The church parking lot has so much trash in it, that I don't care if I ever go back...
Among other things, I found a medicine vial....WTF.:dontknow:
Little bit of juice in it too, could be rainwater, could be morphine.

The .50 caliber bullet was expected, as Ft. Myers is littered with them. The 4 wheats and the 2 silvers made me all...:headbang:

Fun find was the nickel play coin, hadn't seen one this style befor....

Could only handle it until noon...Then I got a phone call from my fridge, my beer was calling, telling me to come home.
Then I got another call from my bed, told me that it was looking forward to my nap....

A couple of sweet. Mercs!
And a vile mystery of sorts.

Very trashy places are hard to hunt but sometimes hide a few really nice goodies.

The vial was under a root, tough to recover....it's an old one for sure.

Way to go BWD. Looks like you found a couple of nice Mercs.

The 1936 blinded me out of the hole...shiniest Merc I ever found. The 41 has some chutzpah to it too!

Thanks for looking!:hello:

You are so right , I have found at-least 1 or more of the items u dug , except the 'Ma-Duce' /50 cal Bullet.

Was there a-lot of Practice Fire going on there ? Esp, with the Browning? Was there a bunch of Plane gunners honing there skills there during War Times?

The town was Named after a Fort I assume?? .......................
This shows I still have a-lot to learn.

P.S. Ill Probably Dig a 50 cal Bullet Tomorrow.
Nice Silvers

Hey Davers!....Ft Myers was a little cattle outpost in the 1850's, pioneer days, almost uninhabited through 1880 or so....Incorporated in 1886, known for Edison and Ford winter homes turn of the century..
During WW2, there was an aircraft training field 10 miles from town, out in the sticks, now called Buckingham. The officers lived in town, on what is now Bayside St.... My theory is, in lieu of fireworks, celebrations for 4th of July and New Years were met with a hail of heavy artillery fire into the air...
That, or .50 caliber bullets were used as currency....

Do you get the bullets and the bullets and the brass? I get both and my oldest is 1921, newest is 1926. Did you know that most the bullets are magnetic? Nice merc's. They look a lot sweeter than mine do!
