If you wanted to see a business start ... What kind of business would it be..

You can chose anything ..
Phone Company - Auction house - Online Services - Magazine - Tv Station --- ANYTHING.

Write your idea and what the company would offer.

Who knows maybe some of us can join together and make the ideas real.

My idea is to build a Gemstone Store Online.
i will collect gemstones from all over the world and sell them to a fair price online.
ofcorse i will also buy gemstones at my store. to sell to others.

my dream is to operate a hotdog cart on south miami beach

when i'm not sellin dogs, i'd be metal detectin

I think a great business to start these days is a self-storage facility. they're almost recession-proof.
With the economy getting tight, people will be downsizing or even losing homes. They'll need a place to put their stuff.

Jones.. I to always wanted a hot dog cart.. they have some kinda thing in nj for the vets, so I could have one if hubby would let me..but I dont see that happening here...so

I would like to own my own live in house auction company... like a huge huge huge barn...loaded with box lots, antiques and whatever you want auctioned off.. and of course, have a KILLER food stand there as well.. Have auctions during the week..and on weekends have a flea market.. I would be in heaven..

oh and toss in my own huge greenhouse too..what the heck, think big..

I could make my cinnamon rolls for the killer food stand!

I always wanted a restaurant, where I could cook up a storm and enjoy watching people eat my food... But my life time goal is to have a soup kitchen solely supported by myself and/or another company that I owned. Too much hassle and selfishness when other organizations get involved, I have personally seen this and it upsets me that organizations care more about their reputation than the hurts of their fellow man.

Well I obviously don't want to work for Edde!! ::)

Building and selling electric cars. There is a need and a profit to be made. When do we get started?

Why not...you get all of the extremes...

It would take an mortician at least 24 hours to get the smile off of your face...and you'd get an open casket ceremony assuming, of course, he can't get the casket closed (for obvious reasons)

I would hope the kids and grandkids would not have to see grandma in a casket for a long time....think I will stick to other lines of work

I have always thought about a good ol' catfish restaurant. Thing is, this restaurant would be sitting right next to the catfish pond. Customers could buy already prepared catfish dinners or, they could have the option of catching their own dinner. Kids would love it. I could provide bait and poles for a nominal fee or they could bring their own. After they catch their dinner, the fish would be cleaned and prepared; doesn't get any fresher than that. Of course there would be homemade macaroni salad, potato salad, fries etc. to compliment dinner. No tacos, no steaks, no burgers; just catfish. If you wanted to catch fish just to take home and fix them yourself, that could be arranged also.

that's a great idea pb! we have a cafe 'bout a mile from our place that has the BEST catfish dinners. but you don't get to catch the fish. that would be a fun date!

Don't know about that . The other day I walked by my local bank & there was an old farmer in bib
overalls selling dollar bills for 75 cents each . Someone asked him why he was doing that & he said , sure
beats farming . :)

I'm actually doing my dream job now - I own a private boarding facility and board dogs for upscale clients. I've had all kinds of office jobs in Manhattan and upstate NY and hated them. I started out small in my home and the business skyrocketed. Once people found out I don't cage their dogs like at a kennel, word spread like wildfire. I now quit my day job because I'm so busy, so none of you should discard the dream ideas you mentioned in this thread - DO THEM!!! :icon_sunny:

Metal Chick, That is so awesome..and no cages, you have me curious..how do you keep em all from fighting or whatever...

yea, Don't dream it... Live your Dream

bootybay: It took a bit of trial / error before getting it just right and not all dogs are suitable for this type of facility. What works best for me is I don't accept any dogs without meeting them in person first. I initially screen the owners heavily over the phone and explain that we do not take aggressive dogs, then have the owner bring the dog to meet us. If the dog seems friendly enough and I think it will be okay with other dogs, I agree to take it and on the day it arrives, all dogs already staying here are in large holding pens in another section. They are then let in one at a time and we see how the new dog does with each dog entering. Once they're all together, they just play with each other and have a good time. Some stand off to the side and don't want to play with the younger ones, and we do have some minor scuffles, but for the most part, if I screen the dogs properly to begin with, there aren't any fights. :hello2:
