Ill never make Kirks top 25 with these kinds of finds!!!

I'll never make Kirk's top 25 with these kinds of finds!!!

Went to my farm spot at lunch. I crawled around in the weeds, briar's, and cob webs behind one of the small barns, and only came up with these finds today.
I know...very sad indeed.

Found:
*Old padlock (possibly 1800's?).
*Old clear bottle.
*Part of a Raleigh vaccine tag.
*A button with the words "Best * Ring * Edge" on it.
*A lead shot.
*A whats-it round piece with two prongs (I thought it was a button ) .
*A 2 quarter pocket spill that I about soiled myself on! I thought I had finally found some old coins, and they turned out to both be 1968. That sucked.

Anyways, I'm still out there plugging away. I know there's a cache there somewhere.

Hey, Doug, just like BDoo said, you got out there and swung the coil. That's what counts.

Good finds pop up when you least expect them to...one day you dig lots of iron/trash, then "Bam, some nice relics and old coins". The sites you hit especially will have that kind of pattern. I see you on Kirk's list soon with a few good upcoming finds. Just wait and see...

Not so bad for a quick lunch hunt! That two prong button thing could be some kind of harness decoration. My lunch hunt yesterday of about 25 minutes produced two 50 caliber bullets, three 5.56mm bullets and a German WWII aluminum button. HH, Mike

I always get skunked like that. Digging 1965's and 1967's. It's becoming very disappointing.

But then sometimes I land a "wilver" so it makes up for it in a way.

The lock is cool. It's all relative. If you only did an hour's hunt then what you found is not that bad. Also, all you have to do is talk up how tough of a detectorist you are by going out in 90 degrees, 70+% humidity through prickers, snakes, ticks and such. That alone qualifies you for the list.

BTW - is that list still going and if so does anyone read it?

Here's how tough I am...
I found out today I've been MDing in a woods that is owned by the guy who gave me permission to MD on the property, BUT all of the woods is leased by a friggin hunting club!
The owner never told me that part, and I've been hunting this farm since Jan. 2007!!!
I actually ran into one of the hunters today that is head of the club. They lease it all year long!
Just when I started finding my CW relics in the woods, I find this out. It kind of ruined my day, but at least I survived about 10 months now without getting shot.
There is a small section of land across the street that they do not hunt in. He said there is a pond, and two bottle dumps over there too.
I can also still hunt around the house and barns, but I've pretty much beat that area to death.
I guess all good things must come to an end.
I do have the plantation house just 1/2 mile away that I can start hitting at lunch.
