I'm in "HOG HEAVEN" with 5th Indian head penny tonight. But where's the Silver??

Hello everyone, Just got back from a run to Florida and you know I had to take a day off. I decided to go back to 1836 farm house because there is still alot of ground to cover. Less than 1 hour into hunt I pulled out another Mint 1865 Indian head. Not quite as good as my first one but pretty close. The ground here in Ohio is getting hard to dig as we enter the DOG DAYS of Summer Found a 1917 Wheaties with my pinpointer under a large maple tree. There seems to be a lot of runoff from the rain. Less than 1 inch. It's getting a peroxide bath. The Indian cleaned up with just water and a touch of olive oil. I found this metal pig :icon_scratch: Boy did that thing set the Ace 250 alarm off. Found another Model A or T valve cap, I guess. That the second one from this place. Found something with 3 leaf clovers around it. Found this toothpaste tube in excellent shape. Any ideas on it's age ??? The rest is in question. Copper thing ??? Thanks for taking a look and Happy Hunting, Ron

Didn't have my detector. Usually all business and not much playing. If I didn't have my Rig to drive around it may be different. Have fun trying to find a place to park a Semi-truck in most places.

hea Ron

Since the site is produceing IHP's set your Ace too ALL METAL and dig every signal,
and use golf T's and some flouresent string to grid off a section & work it.

You'll need 4- Golf T's & like 250' of string todo a 100' long stretch

You want me to work that hard in this hot weather ;D So far i have been in the coin mode with the sensitivity on max. I then scan and re-scan and check the signal. Every indian I have found. I thought about doing the string method but worried if the owners daughter shows up (which I do have permission) and has a fit, maybe. You obviously have tried this? I put it on all metal one time and too many signals. Do you max your sensitivity out?? Well ,I leaving here in a bit and head over there again. It is really hot here today.

Those are some FINE early IH's. And some stellar photos as well.

The silver will come eventually--but I wouldn't complain one bit about copper coins in conditions like that! We have found three LC's and two 2c pieces here in KY at housesites, plus wheats, an IH, and a V Nickel--but no silver for a long while. My silver count is at 2 for the year (but they're both 1700's silvers  I think Rodeo Recon has 2 for the year--a 1791 Real and a War Nickel. :P)

Keep doing what you're doing and you'll hit one sooner or later.
