I'm not hooked, I can quit this hobby ANY time I want!
UPDATED PICS OF OLD BUTTON.
I could! I could just walk away! Today!
But...
After the last couple of days fighting with corn stubble and getting all of 4 coins, I just HAD to get a clad fix!!!! You can understand, RIGHT
?!
So, for about 4.5 hours today, I walked around one of my most favorite little parks. It has given up an indian head cent and a few artifacts that were just about as old. But, really, it's just one of those "Clad banks" where one goes to to feel better. The hits are familiar, penny, nickle, pulltab, can slaw, quarter, wups! jewelry!!! And every now and then, an old coin, bullet, token, artifact. You know the place. Almost everyone who's been doing this for a while, has one.
Anyway, I went to my happy place today because I was getting stressed about not finding coins in my new cornfield. Heck! Not just no coins, I just couldn't take not being able to swing the coil without it getting caught up somewhere!
Still, ya know, I HIGHLY recommend everybody who has never hunted a field that's not just plain old grass, to go try a rough field. One that truly tests you physically. If nothing else, I GAHR-RONE-TEE! When you come back to your nice, normal, park, churchyard, schoolground, you will be a LOT less inclined to say things like, "Damn zincolns!" or "Just another quarter, dime, penny, etc." Even a pulltab can seem like a familiar friend. LOL
Soooooo anyway, as I was saying, I spent about 4.5 hours in my happy place today. Below are the finds.
Among them, my faves for the day were the 2 football rings, (might be superbowl!). Also the darling little heart earring. Silver I'm guessing.
The little fish was charming.
The surprise of the day was the tiny little button. It hit like a deep penny and was buried down among some pretty heavy rocks. I was pleasantly surprised to see it survived all that and my digging and bouncing off all those rocks!
Then, there's the clad. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, for some reason, I feel very satiated. MMMMMmmmmmm, yeah man, wonderful feeling!
I can quit! I CAN!
Ahhhhhhh..........
HH!
UPDATE: When I rinsed off the tiny button I noticed some lettering on the back. I've found a few of these buttons with the stem like this. Early 1800's? But, I've found very very few that had enough detail to read anything!!
Maybe a button expert can place this on a time line?
I think it might say "Warranty Fine" ?
What do you think?

The front is just plain, green.
