I'm okay, Eurokay

Like so many of you, I've been reduced to reading other posts and finding treasure in the Coinstar machines. ::) They're worth checking because of what they spit out (often silver), and I did so today at the grocery store. It paid off with this 5 Euro coin, which probably won't buy me a new machine but it's interesting. We were down to two or three degrees this morning, so the freeze status of the ground is still moving in the wrong direction >:(. Maybe I should take up coin roll hunting!

That's pretty cold...the ground must be like a brick...I admit it, I have tried Coin Roll Hunts. Think about it, you'll still get that rush when you come across it. I did $50 on hand-rolled dimes...I scored 4 Roses and a couple of mercs, it cost me 60 cents and I returned the loose coin to the bank and got my money back. Win-win situation

Cool finds. Don't worry because spring is on it's way :). And I know you'll be posting lots of the fantastic finds, just like you always have. :)

Good Luck.

In the late '70's, in high school, my brothers and I gathered over 8500 wheats coin roll hunting. My CRH ratio back then was 8500:1, wheats to Indians. We often paid for those wheats with dirty dimes we found in the rolls. We found quite a few of the old Canadian pennies, too (pre-Elizabeth, but I forget which Roman numeral it was).

Hang on 1/2!! Not much longer and we'll be seeing you post all that silver again! ;)

Nana :)

Re: I'm okay, Eurokay

I'd stay away from the coin roll hunting, there's nothing left for any of us! ;D

Re: I'm okay, Eurokay

Yeah Henry - it got cold with no snow on the ground to insulate it. It's probably frozen down about three inches by now. :P

Come on global warming. ;)

I haven't been out since that day in the woods by the old foundations with you HD

Re: I'm okay, Eurokay

I'm glad I'm not the only one. But I'm also snowed in

I'm itchin' to get back there. I took a walk over there after one of our bigger snows, just to imagine that large cent or seated silver we're going to find there!
