Indian artifact???

Hi,
I'm very new to hunting indian relics. Found this near a lake here in East Tennessee. Not sure if its just a rock or possibly part of a mortar and pestle.

Most likely just a rock at first glance, but you never know. Good luck on your hunts, you will find things for sure being in Tennessee. HH welcome to the forum.

Welcome to Tnet! Glad you have joined us. When I first started hunting for artifacts I used some sites on the net to view the artifacts from my area so I could get an idea as to what to look for when I am out. It really helped to see the type of stone and shape then the work on the stone. You can google Native American stone Artifacts and plenty of sites will come up. Good Luck in you hunt.

Always post just in case. I saw once a guy posted some river rocks and he had a Celt in the pile and didnt even know it. Not on this site.
