I've been detecting at a local park with my brother lately and dug up some interesting finds. The finds I have are from yesterday and the day before because treasurenet crashed whenever I tried uploading pictures those days. 2 days ago we dug a very nice mens ring marked 925. It weighed in at 4.64 grams, so it's not the biggest silver ring but its still my favorite. Next we dug the funniest looking lighter I ever saw next to the play structure. You got to wonder who could have lost that lol! Next we dug a half dollar from South Africa in another area of the park. The date is either 1956 or 1966, I can't be sure because someone had turned it into a necklace, and the hole is right through the 3rd number in the date. Yesterday we dug 2 wheat pennies, 1945 and 1953 d. We also found 3 junk rings ( not pictured 2 mood rings and a gold plated) a pendant for a necklace with an indian on it, and a pen that turns into a very sharp knife when the top portion is taken off. We don't know if it's just a sharp letter opener, or a secret weapon hidden in the pen, but my brother almost cut his finger trying to open the thing. Thanks for looking and HH!

awesome "pen knife" - and, yes, it's designed to be a weapon, not a letter opener. But I really like the indian pendant. Cleaned and painted, I bet it would bring a few bucks on Etsy as vintage jewelry. Or, sold as-is on eBay as a collectible.

You can mask the face with wax when you clean the rest of it (in vinegar and salt). I did something like that with my indian head mexican biker ring...see my avatar. However, I didn't paint mine, it was painted by the original maker.
