I went to an indoor flea market that just opened in my town this week. I didn't expect to find anything because they'll have about 30 vendors out of the possible 230 That could be there. But I found this for 20 bucks.

And I'm going here in a little bit to meet a guy that has a lot of antique fishing lures brand-new in a box. He wants to trade one for one for scrap Morgan dollars. He said he has no idea the value of the lures but he wants the silver dollars instead. Some of the Lewers I looked up Selford over hundred and 50 apiece. So I will let you know if I get anything else good.

Is that a whale lure? Must be a beotch to cast that one!

It's a rapala display lure. They sell for around $130 and up. I got these tonight. Paid $170 plus 5 slicked 1921 morgan dollars

He paid $20 for the display lure . He paid $170.00 plus 5 silver dollars for a bunch of vintage lures

You should do good on resale, as long as the boxes match the lures. Unless you plan on going muskie fishing that is. The Rapala display is a great find for $20.

Those lures will fetch about twice the going rate because of the boxes. Very nice score.

Isabella,

Since you have a new flea market opening in town, you probably already know that you need to shop that place as frequently as possible. This new place can be a picker's heaven.

As you know, that FM will start filling up with newbie flea marketers and your average people just wanting to clean out their house and barn.

I find my best scores, not with established booths that have been there for years, but the new booths that open every month. You'll find the people that have no idea what something is worth...they just want it gone.

Of course, you'll find people with $50 Avon bottles and $20 yellowed and stained Tupperware, but you'll also find those scores like the Rapella lure that you stole for $20.

Can I also share a little trick?

There was a new FM that opened in my home town. There was a booth that was selling great stuff for cheap. I still get excited thinking about the piles of cash I made from that booth.

For instance, he brought in new Dewalt batteries for $7 each. I bought all 9 of them, and flipped them for $35 each. They all sold before sun up the next day. Then he brought in the Milwaukee batteries, and later, the Sear's batteries. I bought all the Elvis 45's in original picture sleeves for 50 cents each, and 3 high end tennis racquets that sold for $79 each. I could go on for an hour.

It really was amazing. It was as easy as picking money up off the floor.

Since I didn't want to miss anything new, I told the cashiers that I would give them $5 if they called me when he came to restock the booth, which was about every 10 days.

Possibly the best money that I ever spent. If you find a booth like that, hammer it hard. It won't last long.

That's awesome! I think I should go back tomorrow and check it out. There were alot of empty rooms and some full of unpacked boxes. I wonder..... What all there could be!!

It's easier to negotiate better deals at outdoor flea markets than indoor ones because the people who are set up outdoors get tired of moving their stuff around and battling the weather.
