Interesting 1888 Indian head rivet

Found this homemade rivet along with 2 holed large cents and a small flat button and other period relics in a field in north central PA last week - I've never heard or seen one posted so I'd thought share......thought I had a little coin spill before I realized the "layers" under the penny were actually leather and not coins.....

Also if someone can tell me why TNet insists on rotating my pictures I'd really appreciate it, they look fine when I upload them but when I "Insert Inline" they get rotated.....quite annoying....

1)I have used modern Zincolns for short term washers. They're handy and less expensive than a regular washer.
2)I'm not really sure but the topic of rotated images came up on another site and it was said that the image size has something to do with it. (Having to do with the number of pixels I believe).
Such as: "Z" x "Y" are your image size but the site allows "Y" x "Z" so the site automatically realigns the image to fit.

Not sure but it was heavy duty.....the two pieces of leather are about a 1/4" inch thick each.....
