Any of you guys out there have any experience with irradiation of old bottles. I have a friend of a friend who works at a hospital who has access to x-ray machines. They are both non-bottle collectors so I am wondering how I would explain to them what to do. Purpling boxes take too long to turn the bottles.

I have a "purpling" box. It takes a long time to turn purple and the intensity of the color is way lighter then irradiated bottles. Many collectors say it's unethical to do that but the bottles are only for my own collection and if ever sold any buyer would be told how they got so dark.

:nono: i dont think its a good idea . it takes away the historic integrity of the bottle

I just put all my clear bottles on the roof for 20 years :headbang:

Unfortunately, now they're all REALLY dirty again and I'm too lazy to clean them all :help:
