Is Garrett coming out with a waterproof submersible pro pointer pinpointer?

If you would like to have a waterproof Pro Pointer please tell Garrett by sending them an E mail @ sales@garrett.com and let them know you would like them to produce one. The more people requesting such a version of thier popular Pro Pointer, the more likely you will see them on the market.
Or you can check out the You Tubes that show you how to do it your self.

I wish they would. I have ruined two of them while detecting at the beach.

Wow, after watching that video I think I will just keep using my Ziploc baggie.

Why in the world would you feel the need to have a pinpointer at the beach when you have a scoop?

Good point but maybe he is talking about working a small stream, etc?

I actually recently had a target at the beach keep alluding me even with my scoop in the dry sand. Finally pulled out my pointer and it was a small sterling necklace charm with a stone that was just small enough to fit through the holes.

Hey, sandman.
Not all water is surrounded by beaches. Most creeks and rivers have a very rocky bottom called riverbed. And a waterproof pinpointer would be sweet for that. I am not willing to risk wrecking a pinpointer with sketchy home remedies or a zip-lock bag because the rocks can be sharp in the creeks and rivers. I am not all that into throwing $130 away.
Thanks again everyone,
Les

For the record LesLovesHunting - I use the Zip-Lock Bag to protect it from rain, dirt, etc. - I would never consider submerging it.

That is not a bad idea. But i dont think it would fit in the holster too well with it being in a bag. I know people have used it underwater in a zip-lock bag. Too much of a risk for me.

Actually LesLovesHunting it does (but snug). I roll the plastic around the pinpointer tight and then have two rubber bands (one at top and one at bottom) holding the plastic snug against the pinpointer. It slides into the belt holder - a little snug but it works.

If you look at the ad for the pro pointer it says its waterproof,it shows a guy with it under a tap

That is water resistant NOT waterproof. Thanks though. You have to cover up the speaker with your thumb.

They will false even in damp sand much less under salt water. Not sure how you could even attempt to use it? I'm with Sandman. Just use a scoop!

Not everybody lives in salty area. I am about 1600 miles away from any saltwater. Unless you count the brine tanks at work. I am a cheese maker.

No. I work for a company. But all of our cheese is specialty cheese. Spiced and different ages.

I take that back. Our cheese is artisanal but we mass produce. So, sort of????
