Thanks for looking.

Is this even a button? It's brass colored and measures 7/16ths of an inch across the middle.
It was found on the beach in NY.

Furniture tack?

Not another one! I think its a brass tack head and the steel shaft has rusted away but I am not a tack/button expert. The tacks that I have pictured are from the 50s-60's. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,299911.0.html

Yea they look like a match. I found a complete package of these tacks looked like 50's-60's era and the shafts are attracted to a magnet. The older 19th century tacks I am told do not have a ferrous shaft.
