I bought this coin for $12 a an antique store. They were selling as an 1804 draped bust large cent. Which would be nice of thats true because i know it's a key date. I want to know if there is a way to know its an 1804 without the date because it is missing the last number, you can see it a little but it’s hard to tell. And also is it possible it’s fake.

Well I’m a betting man and I would bet every last penny I have that that’s not an 1804 Drape bust it would bring $1200 on up. As far as it being a counterfeit I don’t see why it would be just enjoy it

You need some large cent experts. Go to the Cointalk forum and post it there. They can tell dates on many dateless large cents by the individual die varieties. The reverse is in good shape for die variety ID. Gary

I would guess it's not.
Reason is: the 4 even worn would have only one point of wear vs the one posted has 2 points of wear or a wide point worn down.

I don't know if its real, or fake. What I do know is that it looks like it has been cleaned, which devalues it. Like Truth said, just enjoy it.
