Have a DFX little to no mileage. Am heading to (warmth) mojave desert area would like to learn my machine finding maybe a few gold nuggets. Really don't know where to legally swing my detector Can I pull over anywhere? Old roads,I'm talking in desert. Any advice ?

If it's private property you'd have to get permission. Public land as long as it's not historical, environmentally sensitive, Federal, or posted no trespassing should be ok if there is no mining claim on the area you want to hunt. Why not just join the GPAA and use their claims? Save you any problems like that.
