Is Lincoln wearing the Mint Mark on his shoulder?

Hey Y'all, As I was cleaning out my MD pouch, I noticed this 1982 penny was somewhat offset. Is the D mint mark on his shoulder or what? Thanks, Breezie

Hey Breezie,
I wish for you that it was a Mint mark on the shoulder, but it looks to me like the deterioration and eroding of the coin to me. I do agree it is offset but really looks like erosion to me. Good luck.
